Privacy and Cookies Policy
This policy explains how WorksNet (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal information when you use our website or contact us, and it explains your rights. We are the data controller responsible for your information.
Who we are
WorksNet designs and builds websites, and provides SEO and website hosting, for trades and small businesses across London, Kent, Essex, Sussex and Surrey.
You can contact us about this policy or about your personal information here:

The information we collect
When you fill in the enquiry form on our website, we collect the details you choose to give us. Your name, email address and message are required, and your phone number is optional.
If we send you one of our project brief forms, for a website build or a logo and branding project, and you complete it, we also collect the business and project details you choose to provide. This can include your business name, the trade or services you offer, the pages or features you want, your brand preferences, and any example websites or review wording you share with us.
Each submission also records which page it was sent from and the date and time it was sent. We do not store the IP address of your device, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.
How we use your information, and our lawful basis
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote, to design and build your website or carry out any other work you ask us to do, and to keep a record of enquiries so we can follow them up and manage our business.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, and, where you are asking us to quote or carry out work, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where we rely on consent, for example for non-essential cookies, you are free to withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else to market to you. Your enquiry is stored in our own website database and sent to us by email. To run the website and follow up enquiries we use a small number of trusted providers who process information on our behalf, including our website host and our email provider, and, where we have connected one, a customer management system or automation service that receives new enquiries so we can manage and reply to them. These providers only process your information to provide their service to us and are required to keep it secure. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business records afterwards, and no longer than necessary.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Our website uses cookies as follows.
Essential cookies. These are needed for the website and its security to work, and for the site to remember your cookie choice. They do not track you and cannot be switched off through the banner. This includes a cookie named “wn_consent” which records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, and lasts for up to 180 days.
Analytics cookies, only if you accept. With your permission we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies, typically named “_ga” and “_ga_” followed by a code, that help it recognise returning visitors and measure how the site is used. These are not set unless you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner, and if you choose “Reject” they are not set. Google provides this analytics service to us and processes the data on our behalf. You can read how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete, to ask us to delete your information or to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer your information where that right applies, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time.
